The Sandpoint Lifestyle...at a glance
Henry David Thoreau said, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.”
In Sandpoint, Idaho, living is a dream and so much more than most can imagine. Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, Sandpoint is nestled at the northern tip of Lake Pend Oreille between the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains in the middle of the Idaho Panhandle. Sandpoint is located 60 miles south of the Canadian border. The city is accessed from the south by the scenic Long Bridge which crosses the lake at the point that it becomes the Pend Oreille River. Sandpoint is home to a thriving arts community with a vibrant downtown full of friendly people.
The population of the city is approximately 7,500, while that of Bonner County is about 39,000. The age breakdown of the Bonner County population roughly corresponds to that of the nation as a whole.
